Technology

360° Immersive Imaging technologies lets you see a Full 360° Field of View (FOV) with no blind spots and no moving parts. Unlike traditional photography, in which the person controlling the camera decides what data is important to capture within a limited frame of view, Immersive Technology puts this power in the user's hands by using a seamless 360° navigable environment with real world imagery.

The 360° FOV enables multiple users to simultaneously view visual data from an unlimited number of reference points and provides control for navigating within the scene using digital pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) capabilities. These virtual tours can be customized to link to other Virtual Tours, Macro Photography, Flash Animation, Web Sites and more!

This 360° technology is made possible by the IPIX 4.88mm Fisheye Lens and rotator (pictured at right).

The IPIX Fisheye Lens included in the IPIX Digital SLR Kit features incredible image sharpness and consistent image resolution across the aperture. A very low flare makes it perfect for use in a wide range of indoor and outdoor lighting situations. Excellent uniformity of illumination and 185° fisheye coverage helps to minimize any visible seams in the virtual tour.

To create these immersive images, we use IPIX Interactive Studio software (pictured at right) which gives us the power to effectively create full spherical, high-resolution immersive image in the most time-efficient manner.

While we can provide 360° Virtual Tours in a variety of formats, we prefer to utilize Quicktime's VR technology. Apple's Quicktime video player has grown to become one of the leading video technologies on the web, compatible with both Mac and PC based computer systems.
